Use Me and Abuse Me Day – Dancing into the New Year

Hey everybody! It’s another Use Me and Abuse Me Day.

Is this your first UMAMD? You are welcome to leave ONE LINK or URL from one of your blog posts, photos, video, anything really, in my comment section. (Paste two and you’ll end up in my spam filter. It’s always so embarrassing for me and my guest.)

That’s when the party starts. Say hello to others who stop by. Check out the new faces in my comment section. Click on a few links and tell them, “Susie sent me!” They should click back to your place. Now you know the drill! These parties always last for days and easily a full week, so you can keep stopping back.

NYE2014 1

DJ KSmash is in the house and spinning. Help yourself to the bar. If you prefer, the barista will make any coffee drink you can imagine. I’ve flown in delicacies from the finest restaurants in New York City.

I hope you have fun meeting my friends!

Now click on the video and dance with me!

I love reading your blog Susie! Happy New Year and keep on dancing! This is a post of mine where I tried to figure what to do next when you think you have achieved it all – enjoy!

  5. Susie I gotta to say I loved your dance video and I would be right there dancing with ya!!!! Love it!

  9. Hi Susie. Thank you for this UMAMD. Always fun. My Thriller My GRL went live for print on Amazon. Here is the link to the author page

  10. So much fun when you have there parties. Let me share tonight’s post, which talks about a surprise that almost shook me out of my toga!

  11. Happy new year Susie! Looks like it has been great so far.
I have never participated in a UMAAD and love your blog. You are an inspiration and I love you writing style. I cannot wait to read all the posts that have been offered here! I decided that the first part of my 2013 recap would be a good start for anyone interested in reading Monday Montage: Memories of 2013 | And Three To Go
Thank you for doing this and Happy New year!

  12. It’s one thing to arrive fashionably late, but somehow I end up coming to your shindigs after the taco dip is gone and the good champagne has been replaced by vodka and flat 7-Up. Bubbly or not, I’m here to party, and I brought a post/interview with the appendage of an infamous politician. Where are we throwing our coats? Enjoy!

  13. Susie’s parties are the best ones around! Let’s dance it out like it’s 2014!

Here’s a favorite post of mine from last year that is all about the conception of time. Enjoy!

  14. Okay, I’ll be sane this time, try to stay on-point and not ramble. Visit me at . I’ll be nice.

  15. Always a great place to find new blogs. Thanks for hosting – and Wild On into the new year!

  16. Always fun to see DJ KSmash in action! Oh look, there’s his #1 Fan in action. Great Pic of KSmash and the fireworks, Susie. Thank you for the kind invite… here’s one I was proud of last year, written for The Trifecta Writing Challenge…

    • I was in action alright! Hahaha!
Great story Ted! It is amazing how much emotion you could pack in so few words. Nice!
Thanks for stopping by with a link. Hope you enjoy meeting the guests! There are some new faces in the crowd.
      Happy New Year!

  17. Susie, you have such a zest for life that I can’t help but smile every time I think of you. I LOVED your dancing video. You are definitely the epitome of a “live out loud” woman and I think it’s amazing!

As I considered what to share on the first, I decided not to go serious or somber. We’re kicking off a new year and need to do so with humor and an eye for the awkwardly ridiculous…so I decided to revisit my post on the inappropriate moments/crossed boundaries encountered when working with the public. ;-)

  18. Love the video. You got me dancing in my chair! Here’s my the link to my post about celebrating the good stuff–like eating dim sum in Chinatown with (next to?) Jake Gyllenhaal. ;) Happy new year, Susie!

  19. Hi Susie and happy new year! So glad to see you dancing.

Here’s my link – I just love this Kid and I’m sure others will be inspired as well.

  20. Susie, I already invited your guests to my site–thanks for another great party!

But now I want to seriously thank you for your humor and inspiration in dealing with breast cancer. It greatly helped a dear friend of mine keep up her spirits after she was diagnosed with cervix cancer. She is nearly recovered, and you are a great part of the reason.

Susie, may you have an abundant, happy, but most-most-most of all HEALTHY new year!

    • Wow! I had no idea! Thanks so much for telling me Chaz! I am glad to hear your friend is nearing the end of her hellish journey. I am glad I had the opportunity to make her smile a little! I will say a prayer for her!
Thank you Chaz and may I wish you a very prosperous, healthy & happy New Year!

  21. I’m still dancing from the new year, I can’t figure out how to stop!

  22. Wild & beautiful & curvacious & artistic & efficient & fun.

THAT’S SUSIE (well, I assume she’s efficient) … & it’s also the AMPERSAND which condenses the word “and” into a fun little squiggle.

CHECK OUT my artwork featuring THE AMPERSAND AS FUN & FABULOUS ART at

SUBSCRIBE & receive a FREE EDITION every month, along with some facts & tips & anecdotes about my own wild & crazy life. (Thanks, Susie–I just had to use that term of yours.)

    • Awwww! Thanks Chaz! You made my day!
I love your artwork and so will the guests! Have fun clicking on links and don’t forget to tell them, “Susie sent me!” And be sure to dance!

  23. The end of 2013 found me trying out a new character for my, hopefully, novella. Carolyn is tough with a lot of human stuck in. She’s trying to live and survive in a post-apocalyptic world. It started out as a 100 word short story for Friday Fictioneers, but has spiraled into over 6000 words now and I am finding people more and more intrigued with her life and adventures. Here is the page on my blog for it all. The short spots follow prompts from various places. The parts at the bottom (4 right now) are the sections of the short story…please visit, comment, suggest, but, most of all, Enjoy!!!

  24. Love your UMAAMD posts, Susie, but I didn’t see any cake or cookies this time. Did I miss them? Hope nobody misses my post at See you over there.

  25. You rock, Susie! Love your blog and your spirit.

I revealed the cover for my upcoming book last week, so I’ll share that. I’m really excited about it. :-)

  26. Oh why not… here is a link to my last post of 2013, about a lot of things I am grateful for… Susie teaches me to live and love every day to the fullest…

  27. Ooo – so many pretty links! Totally catching up on these when I get a chance to chill later this afternoon.

(Also, Barbtaub, totally with you on the “meh”. And I love DW.)

My first post of the year, I share a few of my current anxieties:

  28. Susie .. that’s is my kind of girl!!! This is such great post .. so full of energy and love for life, just as your heart and soul is. I spent my New Years Eve … with somebody I really like the company off – myself and yesterday I treated myself my yearly indulgence.
New Year is my two days … that I give to myself. Happy New Year to us, both!

  29. I’m usually early for the party. But I seem to be a little late today. Oh forgot I was here yesterday. I didn’t know what link to share so I shared my current one. Thanks for this UMAMD
Hey everyone and Happy New year. I’m going to go back and dance some more.

  30. I will consider this free ride a birthday present, just a few weeks late, Susie. I had a different reaction this year. Thank you for letting me share.

  31. Hey Susie on time for a change – sippin’ whiskey on the porch (yep watchin’ a wastern on the TV!) here is an old Train Story for y’all

    My maw done me wrong……

  32. The Regular Guy NYC

You have some banging dance moves Susie! Rock on into the new year!

As always you are so great with the blog parties. Your readers are terrific!

Here’s a post I put up recently on a disaster date I observed. I was sitting in a coffee shop trying to come up with a blog feature idea and this mess of a guy on a date gave me all I needed! True story!

  33. You are far too nice to be offered any abuse! :)

    • Thanks Colonist!
Actually, I really want the plug in that automatically links your last post every time you comment, but it’s not available to WordPress dot commers. Dang!

  34. I searched high and low to find the best post of the year and you know what I found out? It wasn’t about my dogs! GASP! It was about food, not many comments but lots of pins and views! And, what better thing to bring to one of your epic parties than a yummy treat…

    • YUM!!!!! A recipe everyone should try!
Thanks for bringing this treat to the party. Good thing you brought a couple of pans. The first one is already gone!
      Have fun clicking on links!

  35. Thanks for the dance Suzie.
I have always thought your UMAMD although I have never left a link before. So here is a very old post of mine that is one of my favourites

  36. I’m still hungover from New Year’s Eve – but I’m always up for more partying and dancing! Beats filing my kid’s financial aid forms! :) Thanks, Susie!

  37. The game is over but the party lives on. Happy New Year, Susie!

    • It sure does! What a blast! You had quite a lot of participants and more to come I would guess.
Thanks for bringing it to the party! Have fun clicking (mingling) with the guests!

  38. Gosh, dancing this early in the day really gets the heart pumping! And I have to shovel my driveway in just a little bit, so I’ll really be getting my exercise in.

Anyway, I thought I’d link to my post I wrote about my son’s tonsillectomy. You had asked about it, Susie, so I figure this would be a good one to bring to the party.

It’s a little dramatic, full of motherly worries and thoughts, but inspirational too, I hope! It ends on a good note, so fear not. :)

Thanks for throwing the party. Looking forward to reading posts from your other guests!

  39. Yay! I love when you do these, Susie.
Today I wanna link everyone to the holiday Mad-Lib I did for Xmas this year.
It may not be the holiday season anymore, but it’s still funny if you fill it out!

  40. Susie, I love your parties and I love your attitude – it’s always positive, even when things just ain’t goin’ so great. I’ll have a black eye – a couple of shots in a cup of coffee no sugar, thank you. I searched high and low – here is my link –

Here’s to a great 2014! Take care, and enjoy your day – make it a Rocky Mountain High kinda day!

    • Love this one Clay! Thanks for bringing it by. I hope you have a fabulous 2014 and it is everything and more than you imagined!
Hoping to head into the Rocky Mountains today and ski! Thanks Clay!

  41. Hi Susie – thanks for hosting! I always love your blog parties as it’s a fabulous way to meet people!

This is a post i created at the end of 2013. It is what I have learned about blogging since starting Suzie81 last April, and it seems to be quite popular! Have a lovely New Year!

  42. I’m out of breath because I jumped up from my computer to dance, dance, dance! Great party, even if most of the other dancers were knee-high. We’ve now watched the Dr. Who Christmas Special (meh!) and the new Sherlock (yay!) and I’m ready for some New Year Resolutions at Oh, and a skinny peppermint mocha grande please. Hold the whip.

Any wild thoughts?
