A Virtual Blog Party to Use Me and Abuse Me – Marching into April Edition

It’s time once again to Use Me and Abuse Me! This is a virtual blog party where you can come and meet my friends. Bring a link from your blog, paste it in my comment section and then click on a few. Mingle with my friends by leaving comments.  Check out their place  Make sure to tell them, “Susie sent me,” and they should click back to yours. Maybe you’ll even pick up a few new subscribers.

If you’re going to leave a link, be sure to click on some while you’re here. You wouldn’t go to a party, take a few bottles of wine and go home. This party is all about the blogging community. We don’t have websites. We have blogs. It is a great place to make real friends. The more you click, the more friends you’ll make!

Only leave ONE LINK! Two will put you in my spam filter and that is always so embarrassing.

Use Me and Abuse March

This has been a long winter and it’s still snowing in the mountains. Who knows when spring will arrive?

use me and abuse me march 1

In the meantime, make sure you take off your boots and dance!

I found this beautiful video through Twitter. Check it out.

Make sure to spread the word on Facebook and Twitter. The more the merrier. I have enough food and drinks for everyone!

  2. Sorry to be late again Susie – here is some Fondue to add to the mix – off to mingle! Oh and a quick CW! http://www.gingerfightback.com

  3. Late to the PAARRTTTYYY, but finally arrived!!! Here is the post I would like to share – http://cravesadventure.wordpress.com/2014/03/29/mood-boosters/. Dancing and Happy Over Here:)

  4. ben

This will be very interesting and exciting! :)

  5. Susie! Sorry to be so late to the party. Been busy, busy lately. But I love making connections here, so I’m going to hop on over to check out the links here. I thought I’d share a fairly recent post where I wrote about a hypnotherapy session. I’ve been working on my emotional eating issue, ferretting out clues as to what’s driving my impulses, by using hypnotherapy. It’s a way to make a ton of progress in an hour session. http://mariner2mother.wordpress.com/2014/02/27/uncovering-a-mystery/

  6. Ah!!! I hate to miss a party! Until my daughter makes her college decision (hopefully soon), I will be visiting colleges again with her, giving me NO time to party. I plan on partying BIG once this process is over!!

    • Thanks for stopping by Maria! Fill a plate of appetizers and desserts for the road trip. Have fun on your college visits! One of my friends told me that looking back, she should have rented a helicopter for a day. Her kids just needed 10 minutes in each place to know whether they could see themselves going to school there!

  7. I don’t really have much to offer as I don’t update either of my blogs anymore, but while I’m here I’ll leave a quick link to one of my old short stories, since I never publicized them much:

I’ll have a look around and try not to puke on anyone’s furnishings. However, I fully accept that if you click the link above you might not be able to promise the same!

    • Love your story! It’s pulls you right into the tale and what a tale it is! With all the earthquakes in California, it is timely!
Great to “see” you Jake! Glad you stopped by! Have fun clicking on links and don’t forget to tell them, “Susie sent me,” and they should click back! Have fun and don’t forget to dance!!!

  8. You’re such a gracious host, Susie!! :D Thanks for hosting! I’m definitely going to check out some of your friends’ links! See ya!

Oh and here’s mine lol Almost forgot :P

I’m working on more new material! Promise! :)

    • It is so great to ‘”see” you again Connie! Love your flash fiction. That was fiction, right? :) Congrats on your book!
Have fun clicking on links and don’t forget to tell them, “Susie sent me,” and they should click back to your place!

  9. Yay! Pardon me for repeating myself, Susie, but you have the best parties! I brought chocolate fish for everyone in celebration of April Fish Day in France … huh? Oui, that’s how they celebrate April 1st! I think we need to start a movement for an April Fool’s day symbol in North America so we can have an excuse for special chocolates too. What do you say? I wrote about it here http://patriciasands.wordpress.com/2014/03/28/april-foolspoisson-davril-and-the-winner-of-my-wish-list/
Now I’m off to mingle and start reading some of the great blogs that can always be found here. Thanks!

    • Those French and their chocolate! My mouth is watering already! That is so funny how they prank each other too!
Thanks for coming Pat! I hope you have fun clicking on links and chatting up the guests!

  10. Thank you so much for sharing your story and the opportunity to introduce myself. I have never done this before and I am new to blogging altogether. I was a shy child and kept my personality mostly under wraps but as the years passed that has fallen away. Now that I am 40, I don’t really care much if people know about my crazy sense of humor. Well there’s that and the fact that none of my children are allowed to read my posts….
Thank you for the invitation. I will stop dancing on the barstool now. :)

    • Ah, been there! Glad you’re letting your personality shine now! I was 50 before I could do that. Love your URL!

      • Thank you Marcia and I stopped by to see your site. Love it! Raising one gentleman and two young women that will be a force to be reckoned with… If they don’t kill me first! Lol

    • This is hilarious! You have a great voice, or were those voices I heard???? :)
Thanks for bringing this to the party! Have fun clicking on links. Tell them “Susie sent me,” and they should click back to your place! Welcome to the world of blogging! I have these parties once a month!

      • Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you appreciate (aren’t offended by) my unique view of my world. I enjoy your blog tremendously and your spirit. I going to meet some of your friends now and I will tell them you sent me! :)

  11. diannefallon

I’m a little late to the party, thanks to a day-long spring skiing engagement, but it looks like fun. It’s a wild wet stormy day here today in Maine, so I will enjoy the party today. Hope you enjoy this link about some recent adventures in New Mexico!

Now, off with my coffee to go mingle a bit.

    Dianne F.

PS I would especially love some feedback on my blog title. I just changed it as I was looking for something catchier than the original title of “Random History”.

    • I would love to visit Rosell! And you had an amazing tour guide! Thanks so much for bringing it to the party!
Have fun mingling and don’t forget to dance!
Did you see that you made it to the finals of the caption contest?

  12. Hey Susie,

I’ll share a post I wrote about finding inspiration to get back into writing after taking a hiatus. Hope others find it inspiring, too!

    Thanks for the drinks.
I’m going to visit some links.
    Have a great weekend.
    Love Kate, your friend. :)

    • It’s so great to “see” you Kate! I remember this post. I am glad you found inspiration and shared it with us. It’s funny what gets those wheels spinning. :)
Have fun and don’t forget to dance! :) OoooO! OoooO!

  13. Yea! A blog party! I haven’t been to one of these in forever. Life kept getting in the way. You know how it is. But, I’ve recommitted myself to treating my blog as I would want to be treated and to visit more of my friends here in the blogging community. Winter was so very harsh this year that I feel like I’m just coming out of my shell with the advent of Spring. Although, according to the weather, we’re still in winter. Someday the sun will break through and bring a breath of fresh air with it. Until then, I can read through these wonderful links and offer up the latest one that I have posted: http://theforgottenwife.com/2014/03/28/the-rough-road/ Thanks for hosting, Susie! I’m off to click around!

    • I’m so glad you stopped by with your inspirational post! It really is an amazing community and worth the time it takes to read other work. I’m working my way up from the bottom!
Have fun mingling with the guests! Tell them, “Susie sent me,” and they should click back to your place!

  14. Another blog party! Excellent! My link is to today’s post, over on my blog, about Tolkien’s awesome writing group: http://mjwrightnz.wordpress.com/2014/03/30/do-you-have-a-writing-group-like-tolkien/

You guys are putting away the boots & hats…over here in NZ we’re busy digging them out… (sigh)…

Cool video, incidentally – stunning scenery, stunning photography & the music fits perfectly. The song doesn’t do Tarja Turunen’s voice justice though. She’s Finnish, a trained opera singer who did vocals for Nightwish until 2005 and has an amazing range, scarcely touched in this song. They did the full Scandinavian metal/Tolkien trip, incidentally – including occasional lyrics in Tolkien’s High Elvish…

I won’t add a second link to a Nightwish number (pesky spam filter…) but it’s worth doing a Google search. She’s not the girl in the video.

    • I would love to find a writing group! It would be a great outlet for me. Thanks for bringing this to the party! Have fun clicking on links! Tell them, “Susie sent me,” and they should click back!
That is so cool that you recognized the voice of the singer, Matthew! I saw the tweet this week and checked it out! I couldn’t believe it only had 4000 views. I am an eye candy person and love images like those!

  15. For the first time I managed to release a book early! I’m so proud of myself, hehehehe. Almost Too Far (Almost Bad Boys #3) is out on Amazon, and soon to be on B&N, iTunes, and Kobo. Here’s the Amazon US link: http://amzn.to/1fyLK6w This is the last in the series, although I’m planning three spin-offs this and next year. The series is for mature audience only, because my characters have dirty mouths and often engage in the sexual situations. But besides that , this is a comedy with mystery twist. Think Sex and the City with more wackiness thrown for good measure. And it takes place in my city – Seattle :)

    • It’s so great to “see” you Angela!!!
Congrats on your release! It sounds like a really fun series. I will definitely download a copy!
Have fun clicking on links and mingling with the guests! Make sure to tell them, “Susie sent me,” and they should click back!

  16. Okay, after a seven month hiatus (how long is that in blog years?) I am back in the saddle and writing. Here is my re-entry post:
Thanks for the party, Susie. I’m off to mingle!

  17. This is an awesome idea – I should have brought something a little more interesing than my About page – hmmm. Oh well – and other links to sample you do throw a good party.

  18. Hi Susie! This is my first party here! I can’t wait to go visit a lot of your friends, hope they come visit me also! Here is a post of mine recently that will let people get to know me a bit better.

  19. Yay, a Susie party! Just what I need on a cold, wet Saturday night. I’m going to grab a bottle (whiskey in honor of my recent move to Scotland) and head out to these links to look for dance partners. Hope people will visit me at http://barbtaub.com/2014/03/25/tuesday-updates-if-you-cut-me-i-bleed-tartan/

    • I love this story Barb! How cool that you met this man. He shared such a touching love story.
Thanks for bringing it to the party! It must be midnight there now. I hope you have fun clicking on links and mingling with the guests! Cheers! *click*

  20. jan

Hi Susie, I’m excited to post my first link to my blog and I’ve loved reading a few of the other posts. Such a great idea!! Here is mine! http://entrepreneurialvoice.com/algebra/

    • Thanks so much for stopping by with a link to your new blog Jan! Great to “see” you!
I LOVED your story. That is amazing to think that a teacher did that! I am so glad you found your own inner confidence! :)

  21. So many amazing blogs to check out! Thanks for doing this, Susie. I have a post about pursuing your passion, learning new things and indulging yourself now and then. http://marciaarichards.com/sweet-obsessions/got-chocolate I’m off to check out a bunch of other blog links!

  22. Love me a good party at Susie’s!!! Voted twice in the caption contest, but am now dismayed to see that my personal favorite (Catherine) has fallen to third! I think there has been some ballet stuffing going on… so I voted again.

I thought I would share one of my granddaughter’s stories on her trip to Cuba recently. UIa spent 5 weeks backpacking Cuba with her parents. She promises more stories… we’ll see, it’s like pulling Hen’s Teeth… and she has 30 chickens… I’m hopeful.

    • That is such a wonderful adventure! I am amazed that little outpost is still standing. How cool that she share’s her stories with you.
Thanks so much for bringing it to the party. Have fun clicking on links! Tell them, “Susie sent me,” and they should click back! :) Don’t forget to dance!
Thanks for voting in the caption contest. It’s a tight race!

  23. As always Susie you rock for hosting these parties! Hope all is going well and that you are recovering nicely from your surgeries. I can’t wait for the warm Spring weather!

Here’s a current blog post for a NYC show ticket giveaway. It’s based on a sexy subject and anyone can post a funny comment on a bad date or sexual mishap.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

    • This looks like a blast for some lucky winners! I shared!
Thanks so much for stopping by to mingle Phil! Yep. The surgeries were all a while back in August. I’m rockin’ the bionics now! Thanks!

  24. Your parties are the best, Susie! Thanks once again for hosting. :)

Here’s a post I wrote recently about learning to trust your instincts. http://definingwonderland.com/2014/03/09/listen-to-the-little-voice/

    • Thanks so much for bringing this to the party! I love this subject and could’ve written a much longer comment!
Have fun clicking on the other links while mingling with the guests! Don’t forget to dance!

  25. Hi Susie! Thanks for hosting, take a bouquet of smiles from Bosnia….

    • Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have fun clicking on other links here in the comment section. I hope you’ll enjoy meeting my friends! Have fun and don’t forget to DANCE!

  26. Hi Susie! Thanks for another great party. I’ve read some really interesting posts this morning. I had planned on getting my cleaning done, but this is much more fun! I’ve been wondering about the whole “finding your passion” theme, which I delved into here…

    • I LOVE this topic and agree that it has become something more than what it used to mean.
Thanks for bringing it to the party! Have fun clicking (mingling with the guests) on links and don’t forget to tell them, “Susie sent me.” They should click back!

    • jan

great post with a different outlook on passion. you bring up some good thoughts

      • Thanks, Jan. It’s mainly my concern that we’ve taken “finding your passion” to mean something consuming, vs. a way to develop a variety of interests, along with our character and other qualities. Thanks for commenting!

  27. A fictional piece about the weather

Cold and Snow are Four Weather Words

    Thanks Susie

    • I love your story and how you set it in fiction and yet it could easily be reality!
Thanks for coming to the party! Have fun clicking on links and mingling with the guests!

  28. Hey Susie – another happy day, and it is happier because of your party…Spring Break begins (for me) today and I am grounded until I get my taxes done – so I figured I would catch up on reading! It’s the last bit of the snow season for you and I love that you have your feet up in the deck chair – just waiting for spring and summer! we’re headed north for the last nit of Midwest skiing – a short trip and I hope to take in a Tiger’s game on Wednesday! Here’s my link http://makingthedayscount.org/2014/03/23/the-equinox-and-spring-bring-it-on/
Here’s to hoping you have a great day!

    • This is such a HAPPY post! Thanks for bringing it to the party.
Happy Spring Break to you Clay! I bet there is still some good runs to be skied. There is so much snow in our mountains this year, resorts are extending the ski season!
Have fun clicking on links and mingling with the guests! I don’t have to tell you to remember to DANCE while you’re here!

    • This was such a poignant post. It was so well written and really touched me. We are lucky to find great companions to share our lives with, even if they are the 4-legged kind.
Thanks for bringing it to the party! Have fun clicking on links and mingling with the guests!

  29. Thanks for the invite, Susie! I’m going to share this post which mashes my two favorite Sunday night shows: The Good Wife and The Walking Dead!

  30. Always enjoy your party, Susie, but I couldn’t find any sugar-free brownies. Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to mention my post about sisters: http://davidnwalker.com/2014/03/28/sisters/

    • This is such a great post and reminder about why family is so important.

Thanks for bringing it to the party David. Have fun “mingling” (clicking on links) with the guests! Don’t forget to tell them, “Susie sent me,” and they should click back to your place! Lots of great stories and new faces today!

  31. Hello Susiepals,
This week I thought I had to riff about my lifelong list of nicknames.
    What do people call you?

    • I LOVE all of your nicknames! I’ve had very few. Although not that I think about it, I got a few while playing competitive tennis that last few years. Susie Slicer is the first to come to mind! :)
Thanks for bringing this to the party! Have fun mingling with the guests and introducing yourself!

      • With the name Susie Slicer, you could also have been on the butcher or bartender circuits, too, my friend. I love mingling with at your party, and recommend that all of my friends drop in to mingle, too! Thank you for being the ever-gracious host.

  32. I’ve never done this before, Susie, so am a bit shy. Thanks for hosting!

    • I’m so glad you came by Julie! That sounds like such a great experience after such an emotional day. I am glad that Ant accepted her anointing.

There are lots of new faces in the crowd! Lots of great stories to click on. Have fun and don’t forget to dance!

  33. Vino anyone?

And since we have alcohol, it’s time for a post about colleges:

Thank you for hosting and yes I believe I’ll take that lovely bowl of chips.

    • Great subject! We had Rocks for Jocks at the UW and of course I chose to take botany. What was I thinking? I was an Art Major!!! I had heard rumblings about teaching methods and hadn’t realized it was in the colleges too.
Thanks for bringing it to the party! Have fun clicking on links and mingling with the guests!

  34. Hello Susie! I am so excited to be participating in your party for the second time now! I look forward to finding some new blogs to follow, I found quite a few last time.
I wrote this post about making it through growing out my “travel hairstyle”, it’s not a particularly profound post, but it’s a fun read I think. Thanks again!

  35. Hi Susie! Thanks for hosting – I always love your parties!

This was a post I created about the apologies we always make for ourselves in our writing…

    Have a lovely weekend!

Any wild thoughts?
