Jason veered off the narrow path through the frozen forest while calculating the many risks involved. Fresh air cleared his aching head. “I can do it.”
The snow stung his cold cheeks as he struggled to keep himself upright. Beetle ravaged Lodgepole pine branches tore at his sleeves, but he forced his way through. Darkness closed in around him. His heart began to race.
The mountain sloped downward and he picked up speed. A light beckoned as he broke through the dense evergreens. Jason launched himself up into the air temporarily suspending time and then he landed a perfect 720!
When was the last time you took a chance?
Are you an adrenaline rush junkie?

I definitely felt the adrenaline! Good imagery all the way through that bitter-cold forest. Glad it ended well. 🙂

Hi,
Well written, I enjoyed the read.
I’m not an adrenaline rush junkie, for 2 reasons.
1. I’m a bit of a coward.
2. I’m now a bit too old to worry about it. 😀

That’s the greatest part about reading. You never have to leave your chair and can still feel like you were there!

A good evocation, I think, of something I don’t have any experience of. What’s a 720?

Another wild ride! I like they way you challenge the reader at the end. It’s very easy to slip into a safe, complacent life. If you don’t hear from me again it’s because I’m answering your call to do something crazy! Thanks for hosting next week.

I “saw” the dark and the light as your story progressed…great job! But, if I may be honest…I hate to criticize…but I think there are a few unnecessary adverbs. That’s just my opinion, of course…

I used to enjoy high-speed activities, but now I’m more of a woosie. Father time has a way of making injuries more painful and longer to heal.
But I could feel the wind and snowflakes splattering against my frozen cheeks. Good story.
