A Jig From Your Irish Lass!

st pattys profile

You know how I love to dance. Join Danny and I in a little Irish Jig!

Here are a few of my own Irish blessings

May you straighten out life’s learning curve, leaving in a few twists for luck.

May your name always be followed with a smile and not a curse.

May youย laugh at yourself with others or if not at yourself than at others and hope they can laugh at themselves with you.

May your door always be open to your friends and closed to your enemies with a window nearby just in case.

May someone always catch you when you fall, pick you up when you are down and kick you in the behind if you wallow in the mud.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

How are you celebrating this year?

  1. I’m going to an O’Party today where there will be step-dancing, much eating and drinking, all of it running concurrently with an abundance of laughter!

True to form, no one jigs like you, Susie. Top o’ the day to ya, missus!

      1. You are a woman of many talents, Susie! And who knew Danny could dance! I’ll be celebrating St Patrick’s day with cake. It’s also my birthday ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. Oh Hey! Happy Belated Birthday! I have been slammed this week and missed your comment on Sunday…
Danny and I really practiced for that dance. We are ready for Dancing with the Stars, except for the “Stars” part of the competition….
I hope you had a blast!

  2. Going to celebrate St. Pat’s Day steaming corned beef in Guiness and hoping for a day baseball game. You sure can dance. I see a long life for you. You enjoy it too much to leave quietly.

  3. You had to ask that question. I just realized that I was supposed to do laundry today (was writing instead, of course) and my only good green blouse is in the wash! Ack!!

Love the video, Susie! You’re a hoot.

    1. Who knew how well we could step dance???? Hahaha!
I hope you are celebrating now! We watched PS I Love You for the second time and enjoyed all the shots of Ireland. Now for some corned beef!

  4. Corned beef ‘n’ cabbage ‘n’ a pint o’ Guinness
Hopin’ th’ day be warm ‘n’ mild
I’ll slowly lift my frothy glass to toast
    “Here’s to you, “Wild Child”
    Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Susie

  5. Ah, I love the video! So much fun. And your own Irish blessings rock! Awesome! Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you and Danny and the kiddos!

  6. Great videos, Susie! I can’t believe I’ve been missing all of this fun! Somehow we became disconnected, but I have signed up once again to your blog. I don’t want to miss any more stuff. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope things have been good with you and yours. Thanks for the St.Patrick’s Day wishes.

    1. Good to see you again Jimmy! That happened to me with a few blogs too. I think it was back when WP was autosubscribing us to comment threads.
Yep! It’s always fun around here…
      Thanks for subscribing again!
Have a great week! Hope you had a great St. Pat’s!

  7. Ha ha! Top ‘o the evenin’ to you! Funny thing is, that’s how the Irish dancers really look, with their heads all steady-like.

Here’s an Irish joke for you: Men are like bagpipes: no sound comes from them until they’re full.

Wait, that’s not very nice. How about this one? -Five frogs are sitting on a log. Four decide to jump off. How many are left? Answer: five. Why? Because there’s a difference between deciding & doing.

OK, I give up with the lame jokes, and will leave a blessing instead:

May you live to be a hundred years,
With one extra year to repent!

    Happy St. Patrick’s day!

    1. Those are great jokes! I hope your day was fun too! We went to Ireland for 10 days back in 2001. That’s where Danny and I learned all of our dance moves… Hahaha!
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to you!

    1. Hahaha! Great to see you Barb! I have to get over to your blog. Been a busy week with learning our new Irish step dance and all…. ๐Ÿ™‚
Now Gangham anyone can do! Hey sexy lady! whoop whoop!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

    1. Thanks for freaking and for the sweet compliment!
I saw another blog in its place when I first checked my stats. I am so G rated (for the most part), I couldn’t imagine that I had been pulled. Just another spammer trying to hack into WordPress. It was never completely down and they had it fixed in less than an hour. Yeah!
      …raises mug of Guiness… **clink**

  8. Slainte! I had a great time at a St. Paddy’s day parade party with my family. My mom is 100% Irish, although she married a mongrel (no offense, Dad). Hope your day was fab. (ps thanks for the jig – it was da bomb!)

    1. That is so great Peg! It sounds like you had a great St. Patty’s Day.
My family was scattered about, but Danny and I had a wonderful feast! We went to an Irish pub in Breck the night before.
We really practiced that jig, so I appreciate that! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Ha! I loved that video. You are an awesome dancer and who knew Danny had those great moves. Celebrated with chocolate cupcakes and green frosting with the kids. Every holiday should be celebrated with chocolate. ๐Ÿ™‚
