Great post. I agree that I can’t understand how the boobie bracelet case got all the way to the Supremes. We have way too much time on our hands if this is the most pressing thing in our lives.
And I personally find the Komen foundation to have lost its way over the years. From its badly misplaced position against abortion in the election, to the outrageous pay and benefits package given to its CEO, this is an organization that has let greed take over its mindset. There are other, more beneficial women’s organizations out there.
Thanks for a great blog, and I particularly like the Chilean advertisement. Well done

Thanks so much for the support Barney! The prudishness and intolerance has gotten out of hand. We were just in Spain where it was really lax. A welcome respite. We’ll get to the beaches next time!
I’ve been troubled by Komen for a while now and think a lot more are coming to that same conclusion.
The Chilean ad was great. It was all about the love of boobs! I have a great admiration for them now!

I admire your forthrightness in discussing breast cancer. So many women are intimidated, scared or embarrassed, both from a prudish and admitting the disease perspective.
I shout out my cancer survival every chance I get, to the point of annoying many, I’m sure. I’ve had three recent minor melanomas removed from my face and scalp-Same thing.
I think the message should be to not be afraid, to not be embarrassed, but to run at it head on, as you’ve done. A strong mental attitude make all the difference, I think, and for those made uncomfortable by the openness, its because we’ve hit a hot button with them.
Keep it up, girl!!

Komen is out to lunch and I agree that everyone is so uptight.. I think if it all was not so hush hush… women might come forward sooner.
I just am so honoured to call you my friend.

I agree and hope it changes with this next generation. After seeing some of the celebrity outfits this week, it looks like the naked and booby trend is upon us!
Awww! Thanks so much Linda! I am proud to be your friend!

I like breasts. That being said they’re about fourth or fifth on the list of what attracts me to a woman. I mean, they’re nice to wake up next to in the morning but the whole person s much better.

Personally, I love boobies! I also love a nice butt, curvy figure, thighs, tummy, neck, lips, eyes, pretty much all of it about a woman! This country is way too hung up and uptight when it comes to the human form. It is borderline ridiculous that people still freak out about nudity. There are way too many things to worry about other than seeing some nudity. What’s next? Cover up all the famous paintings and statues in our museums because mommy and daddy don’t want their kids to see what the human body looks like naked?
Then again, we were a country that enacted the stupid thing such as Prohibition from 1920 – 1933. The rest of the world was laughing at us for that.
As for the Komen fondation it seems pretty petty what they sent you. Unbelievable.

I agree and think we all need to take a deep breath. The less of a stigma, the less of a big deal it would be. We have some naked gardeners in Boulder!
Prudish cultures and religion is why so many statures were damaged.
I am definitely going to research how they got my name and address. Sheesh!

I will have to find that Do You Love Boobies post and repost it on my own blog! The Outlier Collective was run by Le Clown, but he took down all of his sites.
I love my totally fake boobies too!
