How do you know if you’re ready?

The New Year is only days away, but how do you know if you’re ready? Don’t worry. I’ve made a list for you. If you can relate to five or more of them, then you are ready for 2016.

You are ready for 2016…

when your goals for 2015 are not only unattainable, but laughable.

when going to the gym next year seems like a lot more fun.

fun with balls

when 2K15 has been so overdone, you just can’t.

when even the hot firemen/babes on your calendar are yawning.

yawning sloth

when life mixes up “going” viral on your list of resolutions with “becoming” viral, again. *cough* *achoo* *snort*

giphy sneezing

when Old Man Time has been giving you the hairy eyeball for choosing to prepare for the holidays instead of completing 2015’s resolutions.

angry old man

when looking back at 2015 is too awful.

when you need a little shot of hope.

giphy boredom

when you plan on going green next year.

giphy money

when all the clocks in your house seem to laugh at you.

when rebranding yourself means cleaning up your image.

when you are so far down in a rut, an escape route is only a glimmer on the horizon.

when you’ve been working all year and still haven’t published your books. *ahem*

when you are ready for a control/alt/delete kind of reboot in your life.

I’M READY! Are you?

  1. That clock is frackin’ FREAKY!

Meanwhile, I know I’m not ready for 2016 when my case and charger are arriving today…and I have no idea when my new (used) phone is coming. >.<

    1. Thanks, Renee! I am ready for 2016 too! I have to admit when I was faced with not making my goals, I was a little sad, but hey, there’s always next year.. 🙂
      Happy New Year to you!

      1. There is nothing wrong with flying by the seat of your pants, especially with you being a Wild Rider – ha!

I got the card in the mail yesterday – oh so beautiful! – I will have to make it into an ornament or frame it to display for many years to come.

        1. Thank you so much, in regards to the card! You made my day! The USPS was especially slow this year. I received several cards yesterday mailed on the 21st! I’m so glad you got it!

  2. Well, it doesn’t really matter if I’m ready or not, because it’s coming one way or the other. But, I guess I’m as ready as I’m ever going to be. I’m not one to make resolutions or start new fads or diets or anything simply because it’s a new year. I do have a plan to deep clean my house though. And, I have a lot of house to clean, so I’ve got that “resolution,” to look forward to. How does one even clean an Austrian crystal chandelier on a 14 foot ceiling? (I’ve got 13 of them to do.)

Happy new year to you! I hope it is a smashing success. I look forward to many awesome blog posts from the Wild Rider.

    1. Thanks so much Patricia and I look forward to your continuing adventures in your haunted mansion. 🙂
We have a huge chandelier about that height too. Danny gets out the BIG ladder and sprays it down and wipes what he can. We also have a duster on a loooooong extension handle. Put something soft underneath in case you lose a crystal in the process. Sounds like a big project to look forward too. There is nothing like sparkling crystal. It will be worth it!

    1. Hahaha! That’s how I feel! I started the year in a fog after knee surgery and then lost a month in the fall. Next year has got to be easier.
2016 is going to be the best year ever!!!! Did I say that last year? Ha!

  3. I will be happy to put away and keep the good memories and refine the unpleasant ones. In ten year’s 2015 will be faded memories. I agree with Patricia, whether I am ready or not it will be here on Thursday night. We’ll ring it in Up North just as we have the last several years. I am looking forward to it. For the moment, I have now. Happy New Year and many returns, Peace.

    1. Thanks, Clay! Happy New Year to you! Sounds you have a great plan.
My daughter and her friends are going up to the mountains on Thursday. So far, we don’t have any plans. We’ve been celebrating Courtney’s birthday the last two nights and after hosting everyone for Christmas, it might be nice to just chill. I still have 39 hours to find something to do!
      Peace to you!

  4. Cool post… yes, I am ready… if I was not, it will start, anyway— so better keep a broad, positive perspective… 😂
all my best wishes to you for 2016— Aquileana 🙂

    1. Way to go!!! It’s a nasty job and I’m sure your wife is glad you are the someone who is doing it. I’m picking out a sink for a remodel. I’ll be glad when 2016 comes and January ends since we should be done by then!

  5. I’m so ready to close the door on 2015 and hope the new year will be a lot more fun. I’m still admiring the beautiful Christmas card I received from some wild gal in Colorado 😉

  6. I know I’m ready for 2016 because everyone I know has had it up to HERE with me saying “Hey, see you next year!, and I really want them to stick around for 2016.

    Feliz Ano Nuevo!
