We started our vacation in Glasgow and drove to Edinburgh. I only drove the wrong way once, but immediately rode over the median, much to the amusement of Scottish onlookers. Oopsy!
I will take you on a photo journey of my six top destinations visited in the last few days.
We stayed in Dalhousie Castle for two nights. With spectacular history and equally fine appointments, I was ready to move in.
We took a tour of the Rosslyn Church of Da Vinci Code fame. Legend has it, when the Roman Catholic Church tried to disband the Knights Templar, they hid their treasure somewhere in the church. The tour guide told us of a paver which holds much of the building’s energy. The man is stepping on it in the photo. Not expecting much, I stepped on the stone. A chill traveled up my legs as I broke out in a sweat much to the excitement of the elderly docent.
Edinburgh Castle is well worth a look.

I could move into this library! The collection of first editions blew my mind and they are available to guests. Amazing.
We have to call the bellhop. It’s a half hour past check out. Got to run!

Susie, the best photo of you ever yet presented upon your blogs, poised in relaxing upon the huge orange bed, it is your smile which blesses many, as your soul deserves such rest and adventure abroad, as my own have been of late’ your trials and fires have been deep and many, surely this adventure shall bring your soul and spirit much needed rejuvenation. I hope when you return that you will share much in your delightful writings and posted photos of your adventures abroad, your favorite romantic stays, and of your elegant and most delicious meals. Meet good hearted people and eat well and delicious foods and drink. And most of all Susie share more of such smiles in photos with us. You and Danny deserve such time together.

Aww! Thanks so much, Brock. It has been a relaxing although hectic vacation. We are just now slowing down in Paris. Finally settled into an apartment and catching up! We’ve had some amazing meals. Good thing we walk about six miles a day. Ha!

Thanks so much! It’s been a fabulous vacation. There was so much about Scotland to blog, I had to break it into three posts! One today, and one more includes a blogger meetup on an island. I know! Then onto London’s Blogger Bash. That was incredible.

Haha, no I live here…well not in the castle, sadly but in Stirling! I could see all the crowds and security but didn’t manage to catch a glimpse as I had to get back to work!

How is it to share town with such history and royalty? 🙂 I LOVED Scotland. I really want to go back and stay longer in fewer places. The people were so friendly! Reminded me of my Midwestern roots.

Glad you LOVED it and the people were friendly! Most towns in Scotland, across the UK and Europe are rich in history so I suppose growing up here take it for granted. As I’ve gotten older I can appreciate it and I LOVE how much visitors love the history! I find it so interesting, especially when tourists come to trace back ancestors. 😊

I am really enjoying dipping into your blog. Your secret garden whets my increasing desire to revisit London. We enjoyed some nice meals but the most memorable was fish and chips overlooking the Thames River near London bridge. And Scotland — oh, Scotland. Loved everything, but how we loved the people! We’ve enjoyed a few adventures there. My wildest was breaking my elbow in the car park at Stirling Bridge (loved the town and people we met there) and my time at Raigmore Hospital where everyone took such good care of me. We even did “spa day” in the ward to prepare me to leave — bright pink cast encasing my right arm. The photos in your blog are terrific and your writing fun. Thanks!
