Corruption, Technical Difficulties, and a Do-Over

Hello Wild Riders!

Everyone goes through a learning curve when trying something new, but I seem to always hit the bottom of the slide, HARD.

It’s why when I first started podcasting, I dreaded uploading the sound file after editing. It didn’t help that I had heard a horror story at a writers conference. The host of the show had uploaded the file, but days later, found out nothing was on it. Oopsy.

That would never happen to me, right?

My last guest, FBI profiler, Pete Klismet emailed me two weeks ago. He couldn’t get the podcast to run past the thirty minute mark. I was on the run and checked the Apple Podcast which showed a running time of one hour and thirty minutes. I assumed it was his internet.

Assume, being the key word. Never assume.

When I clicked to Soundcloud to promote the podcast, it finally hit me right between my beady eyes. The soundwave (the vertical lines indicating sound) ended about thirty minutes into the interview! Oh, noooooooooooooooo!

Mistakes were made.

The original file was fine but it became corrupted somehow or another when it was sent after my son edited it. I needed a do-over!

Notice all those bars below on Soundcloud? Yep. That’s what it’s supposed to look like. As Billie Eilish would say, “Duh.”

So, here’s a second chance to listen to Pete’s ENTIRE interview. Woohoo!! I know you’ll enjoy learning about profiling.

Don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe, and share The Wild Side Podcast with your friends and family, especially when I load the ENTIRE show. LOL.

Pete explains how he was handpicked to become one of the first FBI profilers in the country. He discusses one of his most frustrating cases and shares two pretty funny stories. He even met a vampire one night!

Leave a comment and WIN one of Pete’s international bestsellers,  FBI Diary: Profiles of Evil.

FBI Diary, Profiles of Evil by Peter M Klismet Jr.

Pete is the director at Criminal Profiling Associates. He’s been interviewed by the top news agencies and has published several books based on his wild experiences. You won’t want to miss Pete’s interview!

You can listen to The Wild Side on Soundcloud above or your podcast platform of choice:  SoundcloudStitcherGoogle Play Podcasts and Apple Podcasts.

Enjoy the show!

What would you ask Pete? When was the last time you assumed something?

  1. I guess it’s all a bit of a leaning curve but these little hiccups help you get better and better don’t they? Wouldn’t have a clue how to do it so from my point of view you are a technical whizzkid!

    1. True! I definitely learned something.
Uploading a sound recording isn’t difficult, depending on technology can be frustrating. I record with three different pieces of equipment, in case something goes wrong. I got a phone call during my last interview and the recording stopped on my phone. There have been times when the only recording I had was on my phone! That time I learned to put it in sleep mode. It’s always something!

  2. I have those light bulb moments that are either AHA! or DUH! I try really hard to not assume too and so wish I had mind reading capabilities AT TIMES (please not all the time – could not handle). You are a WILD RIDER and the best part is you know when to get back up and try, try again 🙂 Wishing you the best – Happy Day – Enjoy
