Faves for Wordless Wednesday!

Winter can be magical. The snow becomes a blank canvas for shadows and patterns. I enjoyed contributing to the texture last weekend at Breckenridge Ski Resort. Here are my faves for almost Wordless Wednesday.

Beyond Bowl enticed me. See the untracked snow beyond? Could I to stay high enough to make fresh tracks? I could give it a try.

I had to pick through some jagged rocks but kept my altitude. Yes!

I expected the snow to be wind-packed and it was on top. The lower I skied, the softer the snow. This area of the mountain had been closed since the snowstorm and the snow nearly reached my knees. It was a blast!

See the snowboarder getting air below? There were lots of whoops and woohoos. I joined in the rowdy hollering!

The T-bar opened late in the day. The wind picked up but I took a quick shot of the mountain peaks. Winter can be magical, don’t you think?

I checked the forecast. Snow is predicted almost every day next week in the mountains. I’m keeping my fingers crossed…

  1. The snow looks like perfect powder. I loved to ski but haven’t in years. The snow around here is always damp, and the last time I skied down moguls it was like skiing through cement. Love your photos.

  2. Wow looks absolutely fabulous Suzie. Every photo is amazing. Looks like you had such a great time in the most beautiful place. Would love a trip there sometime although we don’t ski.

  3. I only need one word to describe this post spectacular! I think the last photo is my favorite. I’m sure you are in seventh heaven right now, I hope the weather stays nice and the snow plentiful for a while.

And this is exactly how I like to see snow, or through the windowpane of a warm house.

My sister’s son-in-law is Bernie Rosow, in charge of grooming the slopes at Mammoth. If you ever go skiing at Mammoth, look him up and tell him you know me! Isn’t Courtney in LA?

    1. Thanks so much, Ted! I came back up on Thursday. Three feet of snow fell in Breck, so seventh heaven is right!

  4. Dude!! You are in your element:) it looks so soft. I love the one with the trees at the bottom of the mountain. I might be able to see some of it very soon! I’ll be in your neck of the woods for a brief minute. But after these pics I imagine my shorts and flip-flops are out of the question. I’ll holler at you if we have time.
