Wordless Wednesday: A Snowy Scene in Niwot

I had been juggling a bunch of ideas for blog posts and took a walk in the yard to let one of them land.

It snowed yesterday. Colorado has been in a drought, but the scant two inches here in Niwot created a lovely, snowy scene. I thought you might enjoy it too.

Last night, I took a photography class through Mike’s Camera. How would you grade this shot? I probably should have taken more than two pictures. LOL!

Do you enjoy taking photos? Do you prefer portraits or landscapes? Would you like to see more quick photo posts here on the Wild Ride?

    1. Thanks, John.
I saw that on radar. When I first saw all the gifs of Californians running for cover, I thought it was great fun. Then that massive mudslide struck Montecito! It can be scary out there.
I hope it comes our way….

  1. A beautifully composed shot, Susie! Great job! I also took some photography classes a couple of years ago, thought I’d get more into it in retirement, but now find myself quite taken with the violin (but I do still take the occasional photo). Keep up the good work!

  2. I really love this shot. Did you shoot this same scene with the statue in the far ground in sharp focus and the branches in the foreground blurred? I love it when the depth of field of the lens is more shallow than what you’re shooting, so you create a pretty bokeh.

      1. Wow! After reading a few comments I saw you used portrait mode. Very nice! That mode creates a more shallow depth of field which makes for a more interesting photo. My new phone (Samsung Galaxy A71) has the multi camera mode, which I need to explore.

    1. You should pick a thene, add a title for your blog, and start writing! There’s a question mark on your stats page where you can ask the Happiness Engineers for help. Good Luck to you!
By the way, if anything glitchy happens, you can edit the post after you post.

  4. Nice shot, Susie! We finally got some snow here on the east coast, and it looks nice, but as usual, it’s hard to beat the natural beauty you often capture. 🙂
