Another April snowstorm in Colorado. Although I worry about my nipped fruit trees, the snowy landscape provides a dramatic canvas for photographs.

I donned a hat and a jacket assuming it would be bitter cold. The mile-high April sunshine had already started to melt the snow. I shrugged off my coat and took a walk.

The tulips are resilient to the spring snowstorm unlike the daffodils buried deep beneath the heavy blanket.
Usually the pond is frozen when we get a storm.
This photo captured the falling snow and the reflective pond.

Soon it will melt and the skies will clear. In the meanwhile, take a walk with me by clicking on the video below.
Are you ready for spring? What’s the weather like in your part of the world?
Beautiful, but I hope it melts and warms up soon.

Thank you, Anneli!
Me too! My poor fruit trees, and we still have a ways to go before last freeze. Fingers crossed!

I’m surprised you can have fruit trees in that climate.

Colorado is known for its peaches grown on the western slope. My apple trees were so loaded one year, some branches broke!

Terrific photos! I love snow, especially when it’s peaceful, falling softly to the ground…snowstorms a bit less so…

I know most would like to see the temperatures rise and the sun shining brightly but there is no denying the beauty you’ve captured here. It’s like a last gift before summer moves in to take over. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

We’ve had snow in April before, but not for many years. However, we’ve currently been getting heavy frosts at night, but warm sunny days. Perfect spring weather, and the spring bulbs don’t seem to mind.

Oh, good! We’re getting another huge storm tomorrow. I hope to get in a quick game of basketball while it’s warm!
