April Snowstorm in Colorado – A Photo Essay

Another April snowstorm in Colorado. Although I worry about my nipped fruit trees, the snowy landscape provides a dramatic canvas for photographs.

April Snowstorm in Colorado

I donned a hat and a jacket assuming it would be bitter cold. The mile-high April sunshine had already started to melt the snow. I shrugged off my coat and took a walk.

Tulips in the snow

The tulips are resilient to the spring snowstorm unlike the daffodils buried deep beneath the heavy blanket.

Usually the pond is frozen when we get a storm.

  1. I know most would like to see the temperatures rise and the sun shining brightly but there is no denying the beauty you’ve captured here. It’s like a last gift before summer moves in to take over. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

    1. It was gorgeous! I was on the phone with my sister when the sun came out and I raced outside. It clouded up fir the rest of the day. 100% chance of snow tomorrow. GAH! 😣 My poor flowering trees…

  3. We’ve had snow in April before, but not for many years. However, we’ve currently been getting heavy frosts at night, but warm sunny days. Perfect spring weather, and the spring bulbs don’t seem to mind.
