Welcome to the Wild Ride!

If you’re looking for inspiration, travel, writing tips, or entertaining posts about adventures and misadventures in Boulder, Colorado, you’ve come to the right place!

Susie Lindau divides her time between Boulder and Breckenridge — the Rocky Mountains, a stunning background for many adventures and misadventures. At close to eight hundred essays on the Wild Ride, she has won five WordPress editors’ picks and has written many articles for the local newspaper. She has collaborated on an award-winning screenplay and is the host of the Wild Side Podcast. When she’s not on an adventure, she’s writing adventurous psychological suspense. Susie is currently querying her debut. Keep your fingers crossed.

Oversharing and having no shame are a great combination for some pretty wild adventures.  Whether I’m making a scene or being told to THINK BIG inside my head, I blog about my wild life no matter how absurd.

When I’m not writing thrillers, I’m skiing,

looking down whales tail

mountain biking,

biking the boulder reservoir

or hiking in Colorado.

I love exploring and backpacking in the wild outdoors too.

I love writing about the beautiful state of Colorado and should work for the Boulder Chamber of Commerce.

I also enjoy traveling and photography.

My husband, Danny, thinks he’s the butt of my jokes. He’s right, especially when karma kicks mine.

Don’t worry. I laugh at myself too. I have a ridiculous sense of humor and tend to go for it whether I’m heli-skiing in Canada or embracing my badass self after knee surgery.

I graduated with a BS in Art from the University of Wisconsin – Madison but found my true passion for writing. Now I paint scenes with words.

Sometimes I illustrate my posts like this one after NaNoWriMo.

I’ve also been known to take an icy plunge with polar bears and pick up random strangers to ski.

I am a breast cancer survivor — eight years cancer-free! — and wrote humorous Boob Reports to chronicle my ridiculous journey to being cancer-free after double boobectomies. Boobs can be pretty funny. I wrote an open letter to them, and they responded. Someday, The Boob Report will transform from blog to book.

  1. Your ‘Use me and abuse me party’ sounds like a brilliant idea (especially as I’m a brand new blogger and a bit short on for followers) – count me in! I may be a bit early/late though (depending on how you look at it) – I live in Australia, so the time zone’s pretty different.

  2. Hi Susie, your blog sounds great. I’ve just found you via “Making the Days Count”. My husband is also sometimes the butt of my jokes (and provides a lot of material). I’ll definitely visit again to follow your wild ride.

  5. Hi Susie, I found your story inspiring. I have come across a lot of women who have similar problem. Some ran away from problem while some fight it like hell. I am going to have fun reading your posts. Thanks for inspiration.

    1. Fear is the hobgoblin of the creative paralysis monster. Banish both of them.
Buy some pencils, paints and have at it! Do it for yourself and enjoy the process instead of creating for the end product. Enjoy!
I do try to reply to the comments. You made the effort to converse, after all!

  7. not wild, and my blog is sort of like depressing quicksand, so ponder a bit before thinking about clicking to go there.

however, i used to live (livid) in bolder! and things were (on the average) much more wilder than they’ve been since. i’ll wander back, and around your corner of the ‘net again, soon.
