If you’re looking for inspiration, travel, writing tips, or entertaining posts about adventures and misadventures in Boulder, Colorado, you’ve come to the right place!
Susie Lindau divides her time between Boulder and Breckenridge — the Rocky Mountains, a stunning background for many adventures and misadventures. At close to eight hundred essays on the Wild Ride, she has won five WordPress editors’ picks and has written many articles for the local newspaper. She has collaborated on an award-winning screenplay and is the host of the Wild Side Podcast. When she’s not on an adventure, she’s writing adventurous psychological suspense. Susie is currently querying her debut. Keep your fingers crossed.
Oversharing and having no shame are a great combination for some pretty wild adventures. Whether I’m making a scene or being told to THINK BIG inside my head, I blog about my wild life no matter how absurd.
When I’m not writing thrillers, I’m skiing,
I love exploring and backpacking in the wild outdoors too.
I love writing about the beautiful state of Colorado and should work for the Boulder Chamber of Commerce.
I also enjoy traveling and photography.
My husband, Danny, thinks he’s the butt of my jokes. He’s right, especially when karma kicks mine.
Don’t worry. I laugh at myself too. I have a ridiculous sense of humor and tend to go for it whether I’m heli-skiing in Canada or embracing my badass self after knee surgery.
I graduated with a BS in Art from the University of Wisconsin – Madison but found my true passion for writing. Now I paint scenes with words.
Sometimes I illustrate my posts like this one after NaNoWriMo.
I’ve also been known to take an icy plunge with polar bears and pick up random strangers to ski.
I am a breast cancer survivor — eight years cancer-free! — and wrote humorous Boob Reports to chronicle my ridiculous journey to being cancer-free after double boobectomies. Boobs can be pretty funny. I wrote an open letter to them, and they responded. Someday, The Boob Report will transform from blog to book.
The Wild Side with Susie Lindau podcast launched in 2019. I interview other Wild Riders about their Wild Side. Search for The Wild Side on your podcast app of choice. I hope it inspires you to embrace your wild side. It went on hiatus during the lovely time of COVID but will be back with more episodes soon!
After blogging for ten years, I have shared what I have learned while building my blogging community. I’ve met many of my blogging friends in real life.

It’s always a Wild Ride!

Love the shirt’s message in your photo. I’ve lost several friends to BC and am lucky to still have survivors in my life. Saw your blog on Dream Big, Dream Often. Looking forward to your wild rides 🙂 We both blog about recreation, leisure and the great outdoors, but yours sounds a little wilder. I share stories about windsurfing and lots of other fun things! I’m self-hosted now so my blog does not show up in the WP reader. Here is a post from last week you might like 🙂 http://secondwindleisure.com/2016/04/21/wander-a-whole-summer-if-you-can/

It seems so cold in Colorado, but soon it will be 40 degrees below zero because Doug has been so foolish to write the blog that incites the take-over of the Earth, and mandatory giggles,

Thanks so much for reading and seeking me out at the Bash I really enjoyed meeting you! I’ve just now found time to read and answer comments. It’s been a wonderful and nonstop trip.
The Bash waaaaaaay surpassed my expectations. Everyone was so enthusiastic and friendly. I hope I’m able to make another one some day. I hope we meet again!
I’ve got lots more to report about Scotland and London. Loved the people and the sights. We’re in the airport about to fly to Paris….

Love your about page, Susie. Wow! You are amazing. I used to live in Colorado Springs, CO, and that’s about all we have in common except for a love of writing and being slightly nutty. You are a true adventurer. I love that! Thanks for connecting on Twitter. Hope we keep in touch! Have a great weekend. 🙂
