Brand New Dance Video from Timberlake!

It’s raining again. The weather is gloomy and I’m on my second cup of coffee. Between yawns, I checked my Tweetable list on Twitter and BAM! I was up and dancing.

two modern dancers

Looks just like me.

Mashable shared Justin Timberlake’s newest single, “Can’t Stop the Feeling.” The feeling is contagious. The random everyday people dancing to his new song in the video caught the dancing bug too. LA rocks in his video. Lets take it across the States!

There are only a few hundred thousand views so you can be one of the first to dance to it.

Come on. It’s boring old Tuesday. Get up. Take a break. LET’S DANCE!

Are you dancing? Is your head bobbing? Can you stop the feeling? Would you randomly dance for one of his videos?

The Key to Success? Dancing

Life can be ironic. I was just thinking about the correlation between dancing and blog views. Then this photo challenge appeared. Really!

Dancing for Rain

I’ve snow danced, rain danced and dance bombed. I’ve danced after finishing my handmade Christmas cards and before Polar Plunging.

dancing with a new friend

I’ve danced on New Year’s Eve and at Two Jews and a Blonde.

Then the tempo changed.

In the last twenty-four hours, I’ve looked back on successful blog posts from 2013 while adding alt text and description to the photos. I Will Follow You, posted on April 7th, had almost 300 comments and 150 likes.

What happened?

I was diagnosed with breast cancer nine days later on April 16th, 2013. Although my humorous Boob Reports spiked huge views, my oncologist predicted they would drop as soon as readers found out I would live. Ha! He was right.

I always blamed my drop in views on cancer. Everything was going well until then.

This morning I had a Eureka moment.

I need to DANCE.

There’s something about dancing that is so uplifting and happy. It transcends everyday life and all the setbacks. And you burn calories. Bonus.

Dancing was my thing!

I laughed when I saw this week’s challenge. It’s as if the Universe was saying. “Yup.”

I’m back.

And we need more Roxy.

Do you need more dancing in your life? Are you a closet dancer? A chair dancer? Do you head bob in your car?

Upstaging MJ on Bourbon Street – A Wild Photo Adventure!

We arrived in New Orleans and hit the street. After checking out the Oyster Festival, we had dinner while being serenaded at The Palace Cafe. I fell in love with the NOLA culture and its music.

serenaded

It was Saturday night and I had to find out what Bourbon Street was all about. While approaching the street, it seemed like Mardi Gras continued in full party mode. Music played through the open doors of all the clubs which lined the streets.

Huge Ass Beers

I pulled my husband, Danny into one bar playing one of my favorite songs, “Blurred Lines.” When the music slowed, we ran across the street. Bands, DJs and singers played with no cover charge. I was in heaven. Continue reading

Use Me and Abuse Me Day – Haunted Halloween Edition

Haunted Halloween UMAAD

Welcome to another Use Me and Abuse Me Day. This is a very special virtual party. I’m dressed in my Morticia Addams costume. Cousin It and Thing will be helping out.

Click on a few links and say “bla, bla, I want to suck your blood, I mean, “Susie sent me.” They should shriek click back to your place. Dracula is expecting you.

The candles are lit, Lurch is playing the organ, Igor is answering the door, and the witches brew is packing an extra punch. Help yourself to the finger food. I know. They look like real fingers…

A Jig From Your Irish Lass!

st pattys profile

You know how I love to dance. Join Danny and I in a little Irish Jig!

Here are a few of my own Irish blessings

May you straighten out life’s learning curve, leaving in a few twists for luck.

May your name always be followed with a smile and not a curse.

May you laugh at yourself with others or if not at yourself than at others and hope they can laugh at themselves with you.

May your door always be open to your friends and closed to your enemies with a window nearby just in case.

May someone always catch you when you fall, pick you up when you are down and kick you in the behind if you wallow in the mud.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

How are you celebrating this year?

Use Me and Abuse Me Day – Dancing for Warmth Edition

Happy New Year everyone. It’s time for another Use Me and Abuse Me Day! It’s that fun virtual party where you get to “abuse” my blog by posting a link to yours in my comment section.

I hope the New Year has been kind to you so far and you are already checking off all those resolutions you made when not thinking clearly a few nights ago.

plunging 3a

2013 started with dancing and a splash! My wild adventures included an outdoor dance party in Downtown Denver and a polar plunge on New Year’s Day. I was still shivering when skiing in subzero temps yesterday. Today I am planning to chillax and catch up in the comfort of my writing cave. I’ll hit the slopes after 2:00 when it has warmed up to 20 degrees and the parking is free.

My friend The Good Greatsby wrote a post about how Gangnam Style is bringing peace throughout the world. I had to make this video after reading it. Get on your feet and dance with me!

The Wild Ride –  Gangnam Style

My son Kelly DJ’d in Downtown Denver on New Year’s Eve. We were outside in frigid temperatures for hours. We danced right into the New Year and kept toasty warm!

Dancing into the New Year

So let’s get THIS party started. It is time to mingle! Grab a link from your favorite 2012 post and paste it in my comment section. Don’t be afraid to “talk it up.” Then cruise the comments for some fun bloggers and chat them up. Go to their blogs and check them out. Pick a few up and subscribe to their blogs. Maybe they will do the same.

Be sure to tell them Susie sent you!

Please consider subscribing to my blog. I hope you will check in often for more wild adventures. 2013 has been a blast so far!

Grab a hot chocolate and don’t forget to dance!
